My Life With 40 Parents:

At the tender age of four, my younger brother and I were abandoned by our mother and placed into Child Protective Custody. By my nineteenth birthday, I had been shuffled through 40 foster homes, experienced two failed adoptions, and spent two years collectively in Juvenile Detention Centers.

In this book, I openly, honestly, and vulnerably share my memories, thoughts, feelings, and deepest secrets to provide you (the reader) with an intimate understanding and glimpse of what it feels like to be a child lost and shuffled around in the foster care system.

If you have the desire to understand foster care from the perspective of the child, then this book is for you. For any parents, counselors, CASA, or mentors who support youth in foster care and would like to have a better understanding of why they think or behave the way they do, and/or learn how to become a better advocate for them, then this book is also for you!

This book is an emotional roller coaster, but I couldn't put it down! It’s helped me gain a deeper understanding and perspective of the youth I work with. This should be a “must-read” for any adult who cares for youth in foster care!

I read your book with my two adoptive children, and it brought us so much closer. I can already see how healing this was for them to hear your stories and to be able to express theirs. Thank you for this incredible gift you've given us!
